CANTON OF ELVEGAST FIGHTER PRACTICE
At Lake Crabtree County Park
1400 Aviation Parkway, Morrisville, NC  27560-9145
(See directions below.)
The Canton of Elvegast holds its Armoured and Rapier practices on Sunday afternoons beginning at 1:00 PM. Please be armoured and ready to go as soon after 1 PM as possible.

If a Baronial practice, a local SCA event or a major holiday is scheduled on a Sunday, our practice IS canceled.  (See the Baronial Calendar for more info.)  Everyone should make an attempt to get to baronial practice if at all possible.

Like the armies of the middle ages, we believe there is a season for war. So if it is raining/sleeting/snowing, or the temperature is below 40º F at 11AM on the day of practice, that practice is cancelled. If you are not sure about the forecast for Raleigh, please refer to http://www.wraltv.com/weather.

If you would like to armour up and fight, after some instruction, bring elbow & kneepads as well as an athletic protector (aka a "cup"). You will also need closed toe shoes, and may wish to use shoes that provide ankle support.

For further information contact the Marshal, Master Callixtus Gill (Calli) at callixtus.gill@gmail.com or (919) 926-9908 (cell).

DIRECTIONS

From I-40 take Exit 285 for Aviation Parkway.

If coming from the West, turn Right onto Aviation Parkway.
If coming from the East, turn Left onto Aviation Parkway.

Travel 0.2 mile from the exit to the first traffic light and turn Left into the park.

Drive into the park and turn into the first parking lot on the Right, near a large grassy field within view of the lake.
Should you wish to visit the park bathroom, be prepared for a long journey.  It's within sight of the practice, but it's a bit of a walk to get there.  Bring a sunshade if you can (nothing that requires ropes or stakes or has walls is allowed), and definitely a chair, bench or blanket, and something to munch on.
