Heavy & Rapier Practice
at Lake Rim Park

The Canton of Attillium has moved its fighter practices back to Sundays at Lake Rim Park.  The start time has been moved to 1:00 PM.

*  Note:  On the weekend of August 3, 2008 the practice will be held on Sunday starting at noon at Merakki & Jehanette's house in Sanford, NC as part of the Pennsic Pity Party, Potluck & Practice.

Practices are to train our warriors, both women and men, in the proper and safe use of medieval weapons on the tourney field and upon the field of battle.  Want to try it? Here's what to bring!

Wear an athletic cup. (required)
Boots with good traction. (recommended)
For rapier combat: long pants and a long sleeved shirt. (required)
For those 14 or older, but younger than 18: your parents. (required)
For those younger than 14, enough patience to last until you are 14! (recommended)
DIRECTIONS

From I-95 South, take Exit 56 towards Fayetteville.

At the first light, take a Right onto Grove Street.

Travel 1.5 miles until it dead-ends on Robeson Street.

Turn Left onto Robeson Street and drive 2.8 miles.

Turn LEFT on Raeford Road(There is a Rite-Aid to your Left at the intersection)

Travel 7.7 miles and turn Right onto Gillis Hill Road. (There is a Wal-Mart complex to your left and a Hollywood Video.)

Travel one block and turn Right at the next light onto Old Raeford Road.

Travel 0.3 miles; the entrance to Lake Rim Park will be on your Right. 

If you see the lake, you have gone too far.  Enter the park and follow the road around and to the left, until you find the parking lot closest to the soccer field.
