BARONY OF WINDMASTERS' HILL VOCAL MUSIC PRACTICE
Thursday nights starting at 7:15 PM
at Indigo Creek Trail Common House
1 Indigo Creek Trail, Durham, NC  NC  27712-2564

ATTENTION ALL SINGING WINDY KITTIES!

We were inspired by the musical displays at Twelfth Night 2008 to once again begin a singing group for Windmasters' Hill. The vision is a diverse group of men and women singing period music that would awe and inspire the Kingdom with our vibrance, talent and showmanship.

Lady Ysolt has agreed to lead us with Lady Rose assisting her. Music will be provided and your suggestions are welcome!  Please also feel free to contact her with ideas and for more information. Let's show the entire Kingdom the musical talent and magic that is abundant in Windmasters' Hill!

Mistress Ysolt:  ysolt@nc.rr.com  (919) 489-6662 (home)
Lady Rose:  narniarose2003@yahoo.com  (919) 906-6153 (cell)

If you are interested, please join us on Thursdays beginning January 17th, 2008 at the Common House in Indigo Creek Trail starting at 7:15 pm.  We are meeting not in a home, but in the Common House of the Eno Commons Co-housing Community where Giovan Donato Faolconieri and Margaret Wolseley live.
DIRECTIONS

From South Durham or Chapel Hill:

Take 15-501 to I-85 Exit 175 (Guess Road).

Turn Left onto Guess Road.

Travel 4 miles (cross the Eno River) to the traffic light at Umstead Drive.
(There is a BP gas station on your Left at this intersection, and another station, can't remember the brand, on the Right.)

Travel 1.3 miles down Umstead Drive, and turn Left onto South Riverdale Drive.

From Hillsborough, or for the adventurous coming from Chapel Hill and Carrboro:

The directions from Google maps for going out to 70 then taking Pleasant Green to Cole Mill to Umstead are good directions (I use them myself when headed that way) but be forewarned that some of the road signs are hidden by trees or missing altogether, and it is not a good idea to attempt this route for the first time after dark. The part after your get onto Pleasant Green is fine -- it is just getting there that is the problem!

From Pleasant Green, turn Right on Cole Mill Road and go to the traffic light.

Turn Left onto Umstead and travel 2.1 miles, passing the golf course.

Immediately after the large Baptist Church
, turn Right onto South Riverdale Drive.

Continue at the Final Directions below.....
From East Durham and North Raleigh:

Take Hwy 70 Bypass West until you merge onto I-85 South.
Take I-85 South Exit 175 to Guess Road, and turn Right onto Guess Road.

Travel 4 miles (cross the Eno River) to the traffic light at Umstead Drive.
(There is a BP gas station on your Left at this intersection, and another station, can't remember the brand, on the Right.)

Travel 1.3 miles down Umstead, and turn Left onto South Riverdale Drive.

Continue at the Final Directions below.....
From Central or or South Raleigh:

Take I-40 Exit 279B to NC Hwy 147 (The Durham Freeway).

Take NC Hwy 147 Exit 16 to Hwy 15-501 North.

Immediately exit onto Hillsborough Road (exit 108 D).

Turn Left onto Hillsborough Road and go through the traffic light at the edge of the bridge.

Turn Right at the next light onto Cole Mill Road.

Travel 3.4 miles, passing under I-85, through a few lights, past the fire station and multiple churches, over the Eno River -- to the traffic light at Umstead Road.

Turn Right onto Umstead and travel 2.1 miles and pass the golf course.

Immediately after the large Baptist Church, turn Right onto South Riverdale Drive.

Continue at the Final Directions below.....

Final Directions

On South Riverdale, take the 2nd Left onto Hillock Place.

Where Hillock Place ends, it becomes Indigo Creek Trail (public road becomes private road).

Follow this around the curve to the Left until you get to the traffic circle.

Visitor parking
is the far side of the traffic circle, but you may also use any open space.

The largest building is the Common House -- right beside the traffic circle, with a bank of mailboxes on the porch. Come on in!
